The Countywide Signal Priority (CSP) Program is the largest implementation of multi-jurisdictional signal priority in the nation.  It has established new transit signal priority standards and the approach has been broadly adopted in Los Angeles County.  Currently, six different transit providers are participating and nearly a third of the 89 jurisdictions in the County have or will shortly have priority-equipped intersections. This program is closely coordinated with the Metro Rapid program and municipal transit agencies such as Culver City Bus, Foothill Transit, Gardena Transit, Santa Monica Big Blue Bus, and Torrance Transit.

Metro also evaluated the next generation of bus signal priority (BSP) technologies in 2017. The study looked at what types of BSP technologies are being deployed nationwide and assessed the existing BSP system. The study provided different types of emerging BSP technologies to consider for the future of the CSP program.
